The Spring ACT PRIDE Committee, established on June 10, 2022, is a continuous commitment to incorporating diversity, inclusivity, and equality among our fellow ACTivists. Our organisation intends to make LGBTQIA+ diversity a reality, inclusivity a priority, and equality a part of all of our benefits, including the bottom line.
We are developing policies with concrete actions and results-driven outcomes that go beyond an annual month-long logo change! It must be more than a commercial social action support; it must be a commitment and determination to raise awareness and effect societal change that will truly benefit the LGBTQIA+ community.
Participation in PRIDE campaigns, marches, organisations, and partners to ensure visible steps our organisation is actively engaging with the LGBTQIA+ community. Spring ACT’s organisational structure and social technological advocacy places us naturally at the forefront of supporting LGBTQIA+ ACTivists and the community at large.
Internally, SpringACT will hold workshops, training, and dialogues to raise awareness through “ACTivist listening”, which will be supplemented by surveys and focus groups. Our ultimate goal is to build a more diverse, inclusive, and equal organisation by gaining more trust and commitment from our fellow ACTivists.
Inclusion in the workplace and in the community is critical. We will incorporate articles, talks, and other forms of communication into our organisation’s messaging and outreach. Spring ACT technology such as “Sophia” and “DOTs” are being used to provide survivors of domestic violence with lifesaving information regardless of orientation or relationship status. Why should we treat domestic violence differently because it never discriminates? Let us act now by creating equal and equitable access and services for all survivors!
The PRIDE Committee has a number of initiatives and programmes planned for the coming months to engage with our fellow LGBTQIA+ community. We intend to speak volumes about SpringACT’s dedication to raising awareness and putting an end to social injustices. Spring ACT must lead by ACTion in changing ourselves with compassion and evolving our technology to meet the world’s challenges head-on. With our “Technology + ACTivism = Social Justice” formulation, we have the opportunity to lay a solid foundation and a long-term action plan in creating a better world for all.
