Last year, we developed and launched one of our projects: “Sophia” – the world’s first chatbot empowering survivors of domestic violence to gather potential evidence and seek help in 222 countries and in multiple languages: www.springact.org/sophia-chatbot

Our aim is to ensure that we can offer long-term, active support to survivors of domestic violence through Sophia, regardless of where they are in the world. We are looking for you to join our international team and spearhead our project and efforts.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The Project Manager for Sophia (50% – 100%) is in charge of the management and monitoring of different aspects of the product. This includes coordination of the consistent improvement of the chatbot; assistance in Sophia’s expansion to other countries; management and leadership of the expert council (“Sophia Council”) of volunteers (“ACTivists”); coordination with the different teams involved in the product; and assistance in fundraising and advocacy activities and applications.

Role in more detail

Leadership

  • Create and maintain a personalised care system so every ACTivist feels seen and valued.
  • Implement the value-based, positive, and action-oriented culture of Spring ACT.
  • Put forward suggestions on how the organisation’s culture and mission can evolve and improve.

Project Management

  • Further develop and implement the strategic plan for the next steps in the chatbot’s development.
  • Coordinate the consistent improvement of the chatbot, incl. coordination between the Sophia Council and the teams involved in the chatbot development and improvement.
  • Author periodic reports on the product’s development
  • Create a strategy and motivate the ACTivists to participate/engage in the Council’s activities.
  • Represent Spring ACT with domestic violence organisations and build further partnerships.
  • Assist in the scaling of the chatbot to additional countries.
  • Assist in the fundraising for the product.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Keep overview of product and its features.
  • Ensure continuous internal and external testing and create Feedback loops with users.
  • Coordinate, test, and implement feedback on new features.
  • Monitor the progress of the chatbot.
  • Monitor the progress and work of the Sophia Council.
  • Ensure accountability of delivery of the project and a focus on improving quality of outcomes.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • MUST: Enjoy working in the fast-paced environment of a young start-up.
  • 5 years of experience in international project management, preferably in the field of gender, gender-based violence / ending violence against women and girls or similar.
  • Strong English language skills. If you speak French or German as well, this is a plus.
  • Enjoy working in an international team with driven team members.
  • Comfortable and flexible with short deadlines.
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
  • Dedicated to helping eliminate global social injustices.

CONTRACT AND SALARY

This is a remote position and the percentage (50% – 100%) can be adapted according to the needs of the successful candidate. We are offering a freelance contract. Compensation is offered in accordance to the successful candidate’s qualifications and national salary standards of where they are based, as we are recruiting outside of Switzerland due to strong budget constraints.
