Want to play a crucial role in making Chatbot Sophia available in multiple languages, thereby lowering the language barriers for people affected by domestic violence globally? Volunteer with us.

We’re looking for native speakers in Arabic, Belarusian, Chinese Mandarin, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Tagalog, and Ukrainian to join us as ACTivist translators  in our volunteer team.

WHO WE ARE:

Spring ACT is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering individuals through innovative technologies to take action and help eliminate global injustice.  Recognising the urgent need to provide comprehensive support to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, we developed and launched Chatbot Sophia empowering people affected by domestic violence to seek help and gather potential evidence.  Our aim is to make Sophia more accessible to survivors wherever they are in the world.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Translating and proofreading Sophia materials and content from English to specified languages.
  • Periodically test the generative AI chatbot content in the different languages.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Approximately 8 hours per month for 3 months, then 2-4 hours per month.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Native speaker of one or more of the following languages:
    Arabic, Belarusian, Chinese Mandarin, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukrainian.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a fast-paced AI startup environment.
  • A strong passion for social justice action.
  • Previous experience in translation or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Professional experience in human right or domestic violence field is an asset
