FULLSTACK ENGINEER
FOR SOCIAL CHANGE (Frontend heavy)

Technology. –  an award-winning, Swiss-based global non-profit organisation run by a dedicated and diverse team and based on our values of empowerment, curiosity, courage, inclusiveness, impact, integrity, compassion, and fun (read more).  We developed “Sophia” – the global chatbot assisting people impacted by domestic violence to gather potential evidence and seek help in every country in the world: www.springact.org

THE ROLE

You will create the technical foundation to bring Spring ACT’s new projects to life, and add exciting new features and important improvements to our existing projects by:

  • Frontend Development Leadership: Lead and innovate in frontend development, ensuring high-quality, user-friendly interfaces. Lead Frontend developer volunteers to make a great impact in building products for the organisation.
  • Fullstack Proficiency: Contribute across the full software stack, with a strong emphasis on frontend technologies, while maintaining capability in backend development.
  • Agile Development: Work in an agile environment, rapidly iterating and deploying new features and improvements.
  • Impactful Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend developers to build impactful products.
  • Technical Excellence and Innovation: Drive technical projects with a focus on scalability, performance, and security, keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies.
  • Quality Assurance: Champion coding standards, unit testing, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code

YOUR PROFILE

  • You want to take action and help empower others, practice integrity and compassion in your daily actions and have a curious mind that likes to learn.
  • You enjoy working in a start-up fast-paced setting.
  • You enjoy working in a dedicated and multi-cultural team of volunteers across different countries.
  • You have a self-starting work ethic.
  • 4+ years of experience in fullstack dev.
  • Experience/proficiency in: building robust web applications with Reactjs (Preferably Nextjs), React Query, TypeScript, Graphql and visualisation libraries. 
  • Understanding code testability, building pipelines, docker and CI/CD
  • Comfortable working in Git and following the git-flow methodology.
  • Comfortable with ORMs such as Prisma.
  • Experience with React Native is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with Cloud computing is advantageous but not mandatory

CONTRACT

This is a remote position (outside of Europe) and the percentage (50% – 100%) can be adapted according to the needs of the successful candidate. We are offering a freelance contract. Compensation is offered in accordance to the successful candidate’s qualifications and national salary standards of where they are based, as we are recruiting outside of Switzerland.
