Technology. – is a Swiss-based global non-profit organisation run by a dedicated and diverse team, based on our values here. Last year, we developed and launched one of our projects: “Sophia” – the world’s first chatbot empowering survivors of domestic violence to gather potential evidence and seek help in 222 countries and in multiple languages: www.springact.org/sophia-chatbot

Our aim is to ensure that we can offer long-term, active support to survivors of domestic violence through Sophia, regardless of where they are in the world. We are looking for you to join our international team and help amplify our voice to ensure that survivors of domestic violence everywhere know about our chatbot Sophia.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Social Media Manager will coordinate and implement a consistent social media strategy and presence with the aim to reach and help survivors of domestic violence in all parts of the world. This includes creating a monthly strategy of our online presence and coordinating the different aspects for its implementation such as copy writing, visual designs and the posting schedule. This role will also include creating our monthly newsletter (“Newsbytes”) as well as digital marketing campaigns and other communication material that is needed.

Role in more detail

Social Media

  • Create a communications strategy for Spring ACT across all social media platforms.
  • Coordinate and implement various campaigns on social media, including the annual campaign on the 16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence.
  • Coordinate the individual posts and the posting schedule.
  • Create a social media engagement strategy and guidelines.
  • Ensure the approved posts are regularly posted on Spring ACT’s social media.
  • Coordinate ACTivists to engage on Spring ACT’s social media.
  • Write copies for the social media posts.
  • Create or coordinate visual designs of the social media posts.

NewsBytes

  • Coordinate and create the content for the monthly Newsbytes.
  • Incorporate all content into and manage the newsletter tool.
  • Send out the monthly Newsbytes after final approval by management.

Public Communication 

  • Implement the strategy for other public communication where needed.
  • Create info brochures, flyers and other relevant public communication documents.
  • Assist in creating guidelines for Spring ACT’s public communication as part of the institutional knowledge management of the organisation.
  • Assist in the coordination of press releases where relevant.
  • Assist and help for any other public communication to be sure that it is aligned to Spring ACT’s communication strategy (video script, interviews, etc.).

YOUR PROFILE

  • Dedicated to helping eliminate global social injustices.
  • Must enjoy working in a very fast-paced environment of a young start-up.
  • Experience in managing the social media for a non-profit organisation or company.
  • Enjoy working in an agile environment.
  • Excellent English language writing skills.
  • Graphic design experience for social media.
  • Experience in community engagement.
  • Ability to create monthly larger strategies and ability to work on short deadlines of a start-up.
  • Enjoy working with an international team.

CONTRACT AND SALARY

This is a remote position and the percentage (50% – 100%) can be adapted according to the needs of the successful candidate. We are offering a freelance contract. Compensation is offered in accordance to the successful candidate’s qualifications and national salary standards of where they are based, as we are recruiting outside of Switzerland due to strong budget constraints.
